Most people in my class used like a tennis ball, or used two balls to represent their planet compared to Earth or to the Sun. Someone used a potato to represen t an asteroid in the asteroid belt. Any ideas for mercury?

a metal bead. Mercury is about 70% metal and very small (about 1/20th the volume of earth)

Get a big yellow beach-ball about 3 feet in diameter – the sun.

At that scale the planet Mercury will be a BB about 1/8th of an inch in diameter

If your trying to go for the realness, I would get a Styrofoam ball from a craft store and dip it in like a dusty orange paint. The planet it’s self is pretty smooth, but with a few craters.
