The Mayan Calendar ends in 2012. Our Calender ends from time to time also, that’s why we make new ones. I don’t think the world will end, or at least I really hope it wont. I’ve still got things to do before I die!

  8. Dominic on August 9, 2010 at 8:24 am

  10. Richard C on August 9, 2010 at 9:36 am

Lol hell no. Why are people believing an ancient race of people (ancient, hence less technologically advanced) over modern scientists? What is this world coming to when myth overrules cold hard facts?

  11. Bobbet on August 9, 2010 at 9:50 am

No i do not think the world will in in 2012. I KNOW this because that is the day that the guy who wrote the Mayan calendar stopped writing it that day. So that is why the mayans thought the world was going to end. Then some geeky dude made it popular.

  12. King of Lions on August 9, 2010 at 10:23 am

I am not sure but scientists are looking at the situation and say it will not but races in B.C. like the mayans, hopi, and muslim think that it will so just be prepared just in case.

  16. Casey on August 9, 2010 at 12:18 pm

if its true that the planets will align and maybe cause a polar shift, then i’d say it’s possible. i will definitely be scared when that day comes, i don’t think humans could survive such a drastic change of climate

  17. Varvara on August 9, 2010 at 12:32 pm

i really don’t think so remember y2k how everything would crash? hey look 2010 is just around the corner we might as well die tommorow! ok so some one said that the would would en because of a calender…my calenders are only for one year then i go get a new one :D i mean who knows if the guy making the calander didnt just decide to stop cause he was bored or had to pee or died for all we know and if there is a way to predict the future than why the hell wont we learn about the past all ready?

  18. Rachel on August 9, 2010 at 12:34 pm

No, I don’t believe it but I still wanna be married by then, just in case!

Apparently they(the mayans, i ching, even the Bible!) say that the Earth will end on or around 21st December 2012. Apparently, NASA did find a comet but they say it’ll pass the Earth in 2029, not directly hit it.

I don’t believe anything will happen

  19. Ashton J on August 9, 2010 at 1:01 pm

Let me tell you something see i need to minister to you, God says that no man knows the day or the hour. So how can that be and really think about this, didn’t they say the same thing about 2000! And guess what i’m typing eating fine and is still here so don’t listen to that bull. and to make sure that i know what i’m talking about, i’ll be emailing you own New Years 2012. God bless.

  20. thor on August 9, 2010 at 1:47 pm

Of course it will !! Just don’t read the actual Mayan prediction because it says nothing about the end of the world.

Web search circlesoflight.com there is an interesting concept-
scientifically they are saying the solar cycle may be more intense

  22. mattman on August 9, 2010 at 3:03 pm

the world will not end, it is simply the beginning of a new era, meaning the world will not be the same as we know it now!

  23. jack_black_91 on August 9, 2010 at 3:03 pm

The world will not end but, it will be a huge turning point. Many lives may or may not be lost. God promised that he would not destroy the earth by water again but,by fire. It wont take too many bombs to do that. He also said, beware of false profits. There will be wars and rumors of wars. Not even the angels in heaven will know when the time will be. The only thing that anyone can actually do is to be right with God before it does. There are many that prophecies of what may happen but,to look at what they have to say will only bring worry to what you have no power to change anyway. A Comet may hit the earth,a solar flair may erupt destroying all power sources on earth,an earthquake,or,nuclear war. If you worry about where you are going to go when you die, then these things will continue to worry you.

These first days emerging from the New Moon can be a vulnerable time. During those first steps out of the big empty of the Void, anything can happen. After the Scorpio New Moon, so much is being dislodged, dragged into the open. It’s happening to each of us personally, and to society too. You may sense the inner transformation that’s underway, but have a lot of fear about where it’s taking you (and us). It’s a time to have faith and keep encouraging yourself.

With Saturn square Pluto, we’re having our faces rubbed in the roots of what’s making us sick. It has to do with the state of our food body, the environment, down to the essentials (air, water, soil). And it concerns external powers that threaten or attempt to control, like security tyranny and anything marked “mandatory.” From now until uprising Uranus arrives in 2010, we may feel a tightening of the grip on society that’s disturbing to freedom-loving people.

This square also escalates the pressure in our “hard” relationships. It brings out the compulsions we have with those toughest teachers in our lives. This kind of Pluto aspect can be searing, and hopeless, like there’s no way out. It also brings up the fear of what has to be done, since it it’s often nothing short of personal or societal revolution. It’s not easy to take the long view, and see all this change as necessary when it’s so painful. But Pluto, as the “debt collector” is bringing lessons about the limits of Earth, and the need to live harmoniously and sustainably. It’s finding true power in the ability to evolve by dying to who we’ve been, and emerging as a new creation.

When faced with change and letting go on this scale, we often seek refuge in the familiar. But the Moon is in naturally optimistic Sagittarius all day. If you get lost in the negativity loop, try to occupy your mind with inspiring thoughts. A Sadge Moon friend often says, “How curious….,” and we might say, “How curious to be alive at such a time in history.” It’s a good day to pull back the lens and be filled with wonder about living through this epic turning point. Faith-ful Sagittarius fills us with the sense that we’re where we’re meant to be. It gives us the courage to see the bright spots on the horizon, so we can keep moving forward.

Well, the Mayans decided that the 5th world would end in 2012. The four worlds before it had ended due to the four elements: fire, water, air, and earth. I don’t personally think that the world will end in 2012. No one can tell when the world will end, and even though the Mayans said it would, no one can be sure. Let’s just wait and see…

  26. Pete T on August 9, 2010 at 4:20 pm

Hang around and see , your guess is as good as mine. As for what to do before the world ends , practice bending over ,grabbing your ankles and kissing your butt goodbye.

  27. Brit on August 9, 2010 at 5:06 pm

No. I don’t think the world will end in 2012. However many people do and the media is just making it worse by releasing the movie “2012″.

The abrupt ending of the Mayan Long Count Calendar on December 21 2012 has been described as a prophecy of the end of an age and maybe the world. There is no such prophecy in the Mayan calendar pointing to 2012 as the end of the world. This idea is merely some people’s interpretation; an interpretation that many do not believe. It also needs to be said that Mayan scholars themselves say this idea misrepresents Mayan history.

However, while it is quite a jump in logic and hard to prove a December 21 2012 doomsday from this calendar, is it still possible that the Mayan understanding of the universe and how it effects life on earth, still has something to teach us. Can it still help us to predict, if not to the day and year, catasrophic events yet to happen on earth?

After all, Mayan beliefs about the universe reflect similar but more detailed discoveries which modern day scientists have made as they observe the known universe today.

One similarity is the Mayan’s understanding of the cyclic nature of our solar system as we move through the milky way galaxy. The Mayans speak of a dark rift or galactic plain. They say that the end of an age, which can bring about world wide catastrophes is caused by the world sitting on the what they call a dark rift. Modern scientists speak of the earth passing through this dark rift, or galactic equinox or central plain. This event refers to the cyclic and destructive gravitational influence caused by the massive black hole at the centre of our galaxy.

Some scientists believe that this is behind the increase in magnitude and frequency of earthquakes, floods etc which our world and other planets in the solar system are experiencing.

Whether or not the end result of these events will culminate on December 21 2012 is actually not the thing you should be concerned about. Why? Because according to Bible prophecy, increased destruction on the earth from earthquakes, famine, floods, disease are only the FIRST signs of something MORE terrible.

They are described as being like the first pangs of child birth and a reminder that something more fearful is on the horizon.

Why should you take Bible prophecy seriously. Here’s one example why: at the birth of Christ, around 300 prophecies were fulfilled! Bible prophecies have a good track record. So when the Bible speaks of something more terrifying than catastrophic disasters like earthquakes and floods that kill 100′s of thousands and even giant meteors, it is important to take

It is actually supposed to be a spiritual awakening for the people . Besides I have to renew my driver’s licenses in 2012 . I’m not getting off that easy . If the world was going to end in 2011 or 2013 yeah maybe but not for me . I’ve always have trouble at the DMV renewing my driver license

  31. sparta on August 9, 2010 at 7:09 pm

    the world wont end

  32. Yippy! on August 9, 2010 at 7:59 pm

No! I have complete faith in God so therefore I do NOT believe this nonsense! It’s merely just a hoax, something to make money off of & they scare people in the process. I don’t look at the science facts either that it’s going to end in a billion years or whatever there predictions are either because no one on this earth knows but God.

Also, these so called predictions, theories, prophesies etc. are simply a cry for attention, money, greed, some people like to put fear in other ( as repulsive as that sounds). Don’t believe the History Channel or the Mayans they can’t predict anything!! Even so live everyday like it’s your last & enjoy life while you still have yours because overall it’s too short to be living everyday in fear over something that’s completely fabricated.

So just have faith & trust God and he will take away your fear!! :)

World may or may not end in 2012 but there is definitely special alignment of the planets going to happen in that year and this alignment may have much effect on so many of us. I have read this an article on this and it say that this effect can be minimized or eliminated by a special course of action. You can follow this article to understand more http://sunil.we.bs/2012contac.html
