Ok, so the Mayan calender ended in 2012, so what? Have the Mayans successfully predicted anything else? Are there others who predicted the end of the world in 2012? If so, what have they successfully predicted.

The world will not end. The end of a massive age however.

We are talking about the end of age 1 and the start of age 2.
Meaning the end of the dark age. The beginning of the light age.

The mayans actually have over a 99% success rate. Sad how society doesn’t accept it. They predicted this economic collapse and the industrial revolution, and this truth movement going on. They predicted solar eclipses thousands of years ahead of time.

2012 is simply the next step in the evolution of consciousness, not the end of the world.

Earth Wobble concludes on 2012 as well. It will be the beginning of a whole new cycle that will start like a 29,000 year cycle.

Has anyone considered that it stopped because A. The Mayans got lazy B. They ran out of materials C. They found it pointless to continue on or D. It stopped because you can’t keep making calendars for extended centuries!!!!

If the Mayans were so smart, why didn’t they know about deforestation and that it would ruin their environment by cutting down all the trees to make cement to build their temples? if they were so smart, why didn’t they see their own end before 2012?

This is what others have interpreted, not what the Mayans claim.

Scripture tells us that only the Father knows the time of Jesus’ return. Jesus, the Son, does not know. Therefore no one but God knows. Do not trouble yourself with such things.

    EndlessMountain got a point there
    they predicted many things
people that dont believe them are
    the gullible people.
    You know who you are!

it was never predicted as the end of the world…it is viewed as a “great awakening” or “great realization”…what that means, i dont know, will it happen…i dont know that either. and yes, the mayans successfully predicted many cosmic events, as well as solstices and equinoxes. Imagine predicting something like that, that accurately…with no real technology or knowledge about space at all…pretty impressive. But who knows, maybe they just got lazy and stopped recording their calender, or maybe they were all wiped out before they could finish…i will say that D day is supposed to fall on 12/21/12, and that doesnt help its credibility…

no they havent….it means nothing….they just stopped their calendar….whooptie whoop….smart ppl ignore it cuz tribulation takes 7 yrs after rapture and rapture hasnt happened….If rapture happens tomorrow it still takes another f7 yrs!!! which makes 2015!!!!!

Our world will never come to an end…because it has to be in existence as the home of the ‘righteous’

(Psalm 37:29) The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.

    Note the word…FOREVER…

WHAT IS TO BE DESTROYED IS WICKED HUMANITY.
(Psalm 37:34) Hope in Jehovah and keep his way, And he will exalt you to take possession of the earth. When the wicked ones are cut off, you will see [it].

I actually saw a discovery special on this not too long ago. According to discovery they predicted the exact day the spainiards were to land in South America. The Mayans believed this to be the end because according to their calendar the earth the moon the sun and the center of the universe will be inline. Just so happens that on December 12th 2012 the Sun the moon and the earth will all be in line with what scientist believe the myans described to be the center of the universe. In 2006 scientist also discovered what they believe to be a black hole in that same location. Just so you know the sun the moon and the earth align approx once every 5000 years which also happens to be the length of each stage of life according to the myans. The chinese scrolls also predicted the world to end in 2012 as did a computer program created simulate flipping a coin. If you ask me, it’s a bunch of bologna.

I have not heard of one.

One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.

Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

“But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

    With love in Christ.
